Hair Loss can be very traumatic and in some cases due to disease uncorrectable. Please help us help others.
You can make a difference by donating to the following Charities
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
NAAF was established in 1981 with one clear goal; to offer support to individuals affected by alopecia areata. Though the mission has expanded over the past two decades, the importance of providing a substantial support program to people of all ages and interests has not diminished.
The NAAF support program offers different ways to create a sense of community amongst individuals with alopecia areata and their families. If you are more comfortable communicating with distance, the Message Boards provide a great opportunity to meet others. Or, if you would prefer to discuss your experiences with alopecia areata in more of a group setting, the Support Group Program may be the best fit. (And if there is not a group in your area, we can always help you to start one!) And, if you like to get a dose of support in a lighter setting, be sure to see if NAAF’s Charlie’s Angels Program will be visiting your town!
Alopecia areata affects approximately two percent of the population overall, including more than 4.7 million people in the United States alone. This common skin disease is highly unpredictable and cyclical. Hair can grow back in or fall out again at any time, and the disease course is different for each person.
